Thanksgiving Tree

November 12, 2008

We hope to have a whole pile of blessings at the bottom of this tree when Thanksgiving rolls around.

The hardest part seems to be getting the kids to think beyond “I’m thankful that we got to play today.” I guess we need to spend a little more time acknowledging where all good things come from, eh? I mean, if Mommy and Daddy are doing it, the kids will ultimately follow suit.

We’re also trying to memorize Psalm 95:1-3 and 6-7

1Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
3 For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.

6 Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
7 For he is our God,
and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.
