Here and There and Everywhere

December 16, 2008

We’ve got lots to keep us busy these days, as everyone does, I’m sure. It’s such a special time of year and goes by so quickly, that I think it’s important to try and enjoy the process of it all. In the midst of all our activity, I’m trying to fit quiet moments in here and there to just sit and enjoy….Then back to work and back to business.

Here are a few things we’ve had going on. This first is a tradition, and a favorite with the littles.

I made one of these to add to the festive appearance of our home. It was so easy and fun.

This project is under way and coming along nicely.

We made some paper bag lanterns sort of like these, only to make it simple for the kids, we just used star stickers on the insides of the bags, and placed votive holders inside to light them up. This pic is from Better Homes and Gardens, but it kind of gives you an idea of how they will look.

I also came across this site called One Pretty Thing where links to “do it yourself” projects are posted every day. Surely a person could find something to suit their fancy among all those great ideas. Of course right now, it’s full of Christmas gift ideas, so check it out if you’re still wanting to do some crafting.

This is on the agenda for today. I’ve seen it several places now, and just have to give it a try ourselves. Something about jingle bells and children make it hard to resist such a simple project.

Tonia has a lovely post today
to encourage you as you do your daily work, but also try to enjoy some quiet along the way…
