Any input on this matter is welcome. Ideas?

I like the suggestions made on Samuel’s blog so far.

Put the Bible in the middle of the living room floor or maybe elevated on something. Then, everyone join hands and dance around it chanting “The Bible Stands” or something tribal. She wouldn’t forget this. What I meant to say is no, I have no good ideas, but I think the fact that you want to make it special for a special little girl is a good idea.Don’t rule out the dancing.

Perhaps getting dressed up for a special occasion would go well with a family banquet- I’d wager a girl could always remember wearing that special dress on that special day. Such a very special girl too!

Hmmm…this is a good topic. Ethan made a profession of faith in the summer of 07 and we bought his Bible shortly thereafter and he uses it quite often with his schoolwork and memorizations. I never really put much thought into the presentation, but I think that it is a really good idea and something that will definitely make the occasion more memorable. I would say a brunch or something with food & celebration would be good, but I would also think that it would be nice if the 2 of you could write her a personal letter and read it aloud to her when presenting it to her. Maybe you could describe that since she was born you have had prayer together for her, prayer for God's will in her life, prayer for her character and her health – just showing how God's word is the living word and how important it has been in the decisions you have made for her and how important it will be in the decisions she makes for herself…the letter would be something she could keep and treasure forever as a reminder of what His Word is for. That is my thought…not a huge help, I don't guess, but I'm sure that as she gets older, having a personal letter than the two of you took the time & effort into writing specifically for her, man, that will be something to really treasure.keep us posted on what you decide…

Some thoughts that came to my mind- not so much to do with the presentation, well actually yes it does I guess, picking a special spot for the Bible and as part of the presentation explaining that this spot is where she can always find God’s Word….another thought- has it been awhile since she’s had any professional pictures taken? maybe get her gussied up in a beautiful little dress and have some really nice pictures taken with her and her new Bible. or some informal outdoor photos taken.
