Can’t Get Enough of Frog and Toad

August 25, 2009

These characters are are so cute!

I’m on a mission to find more Easy Readers by Arnold Lobel. The Frog and Toad Treasury has been so much fun. I have noticed that my girlie has been reading with more and more expression and enthusiasm since starting on these little stories. It’s like punctuation suddenly makes sense to her. Beautiful!

The author turns phrases that adults often use into story lines that are fun for children. For instance, one story has Frog and Toad looking for spring because it is just “around the corner.” So clever and delightful. I love when children start to get humor and even use it in their own daily conversations.

He's my favorite. We had 2 last week, 'Lucille' and 'Uncle Elephant.' There over at Amazon if you're interested. Can't wait for Lily to be reading voraciously. We're getting there.

What a sweet little voice she has! (I turned the volume up.) And she reads so well!

Oh my goodness. This was too sweet. She is really taking off, hey? Great job to all three of you! I love to hear kids read and can't wait for Luke to get there! (Long wait, I know.) At least he's finally interested in looking at books.
